Hi all!
Yesterday was another great day for both of us. We had the chance to be the official photographers for this very lovely couple. Ida and Zaidil was the couple whom being celebrated during the last Tidal Bore Festival (refer to previous entry) After almost two months, they are celebrated again in another merry event. Wait for the photos!

Pua Kumbu - exotic textile among the Iban
|

A local enterprise assigned us to work on their portfolio few weeks back. The portfolio is designed for an exhibition to be held in Malacca this week.
Featuring above is an exotic textile among the Iban called ' pua ', often referred to as a blanket but more appropriately simply called a cloth and other related accessories. Kept as family heirlooms, these patterns are passed from mother to daughter. Like a personal stamp, the Iban women infuse much of their creativity in their weaving and decorative style.
To enhance the motives, some weavers introduce embroidery, tapestry weaving, brocade weaving or supplementary weft embroidery. Old beliefs of misfortunes and death befalling upon them, however, kept weavers from straying from traditional motives and methods of weaving.

It was a chance in a lifetime!
Sarawak Malay Traditional Wedding was one of the big event happened during Pesta Benak 2007. I believe this kind of event happens very rarely. This couple was sponsored by the government to be wedded...witnessed by thousands of people. Everything was done based on culture but not neglecting the religion at the same time. It was glorious...absolutely glorious I could say. Unfortunately, lighting was unpredictable...or maybe I'm not experienced enough to handle those spotlights

The bride was our school mate and we seem so happy she ended her single life with a great guy. The solemnisation ran so smoothly thus made us left with a lot of free time. Therefore, we decided to go for an outdoor shot.

It's school holiday again! And wedding happens almost every weekend.
This was our second wedding job, quite far from home. We started our journey as early at 4.45am and came back home only at 7.30pm. Definitely very tiring but we enjoyed every second. Happy viewing!
